Description
Memory cartridge
A memory cartridge is a board with DIMM slots that is installed in the chassis of older-generation four-socket DL580 servers and holds the memory modules.
In these servers the memory slots are not on the system board, and the memory capacity is set by the number of installed cartridges.
The cartridge design allows memory to grow to very high capacity and makes servicing the modules easier.
