LRDIMM memory (Load-Reduced)

An LRDIMM is a memory module that buffers the data path as well as the command signals, so more ranks fit on a channel without increasing its electrical load.

To reach the highest memory capacity, for example for in-memory databases or dense virtualization, high-capacity LRDIMM modules are used.

The server's total memory capacity becomes much higher than with RDIMM.

  • These LRDIMMs do not support NVDIMMs.
  • Mixing of DIMM types is not supported.
  • Mixing of 2133 and 2400MHz DIMMs is not supported.
  • Mixing the 128GB LRDIMM with other capacities is not supported.
